Abstract

Fissidens philonotulus Besch., known from the Society Islands and Fiji, is considered to be the same as the widespread and variable F. ceylonensis Dozy & Molk. Fissidens pascuanus Broth., an endemic on Easter Island, is considered to be closely related to F. linearis var. obscurirete (Broth. & Paris) Stone. A lectotoype of F. pascuanus is designated.
